Kids of Grace

Kids of Grace

At GVF we are committed to reaching our children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our children's ministry strives for Biblical, Gospel-centered content that encourages our kids to learn and live out their faith, engaging Sunday morning programming that helps our kids love church and want to invite their friends, and family-focused discipleship that equips parents to disciple their children (Deut. 6:4-9).

What should I expect on Sunday morning?
On Sunday mornings we provide classes for children from birth to fifth grade:

  • Nursery: Birth–age 18 months

  • Toddlers: Ages 18 months-2.5 years

  • Preschool: Ages 2.5-4 years

  • PreK/K: Ages 4–Kindergarten

  • 1st–5th grade Large Group, 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th grade Small Groups

When you arrive, a greeter will direct  you to our Kids of Grace Check-in area. There someone will be available to help you check your child into their class electronically. Our infant-kindergarten children have class for the entire service and may check in and go to their classes starting at 10:15 am. Our 1st–5th graders join in for the first half of the worship service. The elementary kids will be dismissed from the service, at which time they will meet their teachers in the lobby who will take them to class. After the service, you will follow the signs to find your child's class. You will be required to show the printed sticker from check-in in order to pick up your child.

What happens in class?
Nursery and Toddlers: Age-appropriate free play, listening to a short Bible story and songs, snack time and more play!

Preschool and PreK/K: Age-appropriate free play, a toddler Bible lesson which may include songs, crafts, and/or games, and snack time

1st–5th grade: Large group lesson using games, videos and live teaching, followed by small group time with more games, question and answer time, crafts, memory verse practice, Bible skills activities, and more.

How will I know if my child is upset/becomes ill/needs me?
In the event that we need you for any reason, we will post the code from the printed sticker you received at check-in on our screens in the front of the auditorium during the service. Should you see your code, please come to your child's class right away.

Who's teaching my child?
All of our volunteers are background checked and have filled out volunteer applications. They love kids and are eager to teach them about God's Word! We have 3-4 rotating teachers for each class, as well as rotating assistants in each classroom. Our nursery classroom has a paid staff member who leads that room every week to provide consistency for our youngest children.

What curriculum do you use?
Nursery: Look What God Made by Discipleland
Toddlers: Look What God Did by Discipleland
Preschool and PreK/K: Hands-on-Bible by Group

1st-5th Grade: The Gospel Project for Kids by Lifeway
